After the purchase of components I threw together this quick and dirty prototype to see if the members would hold. The spark should be fired at 5.5 kV spark big approx. 20kV. The primary spark gap was measured at 11-15 mm, but weforgot. The resistors are only rated to 1 kV, but it seems that I put the shrink wrap around them has been successful in preventing the formation of arches.
